iPhone App - Designed for the iPhone, compatible with the iPad
Honk if you’ve ever put money in a meter and then forgot to come back before the time ran out, or even worse, remembered to go get your car but forgot where it was parked. Maybe I’m a bit abnormal, but I’ve had both happen to me on more than one occasion.
To the cloud! Oh wait, that’s for Windows 7. I meant, there’s an app for that!
Honk puts everything you need for finding your car/not getting a ticket into one place. The main interface gives you a cartoony car meter that you can set for whatever amount of time you want. When the clock is near the end, the app will remind you to go retrieve your car before the dreaded meter maid comes out to play. For folks like me though, the app also includes a GPS tracker that works with your compass (the car sets its location when you start the meter) and even allows you to take a picture of the spot, just so you know what buildings/trees to look for. You can also draw notes onto the picture to notate what parking spot/section you are in, which is great for concerts and sporting events. My only suggestion would be to add some sort of label system a la Pocket Labeler to make the note system a bit more legible.
For the 99 cent asking price there’s really no excuse not to buy honk, as it’ll save you a ton of money in future tickets. Even if you don’t use meters, Honk can easily double as a parking space finder with its handy GPS and picture functions. Just go pick it up, you won’t regret it.
